Day 5 Chocolate Mint Squares

Every year during Christmas, my great-grandma’s sister Julia would bring over a box of cookies and bars. It wasn’t on a fancy plate, but inside were the most delicious baked goods, and I would wait with so much anticipation, savoring the thought of each treat.

Even now, I can still hear her cheerful laugh and feel glimpses of her bright, warm personality. Those memories stay with me, like the sweet, lingering taste of her cookies, filling my heart with joy and the love of those Christmases.
